Duration: The MBBS program in Bangladesh typically spans a total of five years. This is followed by a one-year compulsory internship.

Professional MBBS Course spanned during the first one and half years (January to July of the next year of the five-year course. Divided into three terms of equal duration (each extending 6 months), the subject taught during this period is Human Anatomy (650 hours).
Human Physiology (380 hours), and Medical Biochemistry (270 hours), and community Medicine (70 hours). Forms of instructions include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars, symposiums, and field visits.
Secondly,
the Professional MBBS Course spans for one year after the completion of the First Professional course. That is it extends up to two and half years of the five-year course. The subjects taught during this period are Community Medicine (220 hours), Forensic Medicine (180 hours). Forms of instructions include lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, practical classes, seminars, symposiums, and field visits.
Further,
the professional MBBS course spans one year after the completion of the Second Professional course. That is it extends up to three and half years of the five-year course. The subjects thought during this period are Pathology (270 hours), Microbiology (220 hours), and Pharmacology & Therapeutics (210 hours). Forms of instructions include lecture, tutorial, demonstration, practical classes, item, and term final, formative assessment.
Finally,
Professional MBBS Course spans one and half years after the completion of the third Professional course. That is it extends up to the end of the five-year course. The subjects include Medicine and allied subjects like Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Cardiology, Skin, Oncology, etc. Surgery and its allied subjects like ENT, Eye, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Medicine includes lectures and tutorials for 252 hours and ward duties for 1248 hours (52 weeks x6 days x4 hours daily).
Surgery includes lectures ad tutorials for 347 hours and ward duties for 1248 hours (52 weeks x4 days x4 hours daily). Obstetrics & Gynecology including lectures and tutorials for 114 hours and wad duties for 386 hours (total of 500 hours).
Organization of the Five Year MBBS course:
Internship Training Students who successfully pass through the Final Professional MBBS require to undergo one year of compulsory internship training in a BMDC recognized hospital, which of course includes Marine City Medical College Hospital. It is a prerequisite for each medical graduate to be a BMDC recognized registered doctor and thus achieve the legal status of providing health care service and prescribing medicine.
Marine City Medical College Hospital has developed the full facility to design a fully structured and supervised training to develop the necessary skill and attitudes to deal with common health problems, to work in any hospital and community environment. The trainees are entitled to and receive appropriate subsistence allowance/honorarium during the internship. An internship certificate mentioning the performance will be issued by the hospital. Academic authority at the end of the training should be approved.
Course Evaluations
In course examinations, Regular study, and following the classes are indispensable for passing through the vast curriculum of the MBBS course. To confirm the course and achieve high standards regular periodic class tests, assignments, item, card final, and term final examinations are conducted by each department. The card final and term final examination try to mimic the university conducted professional examinations (discussed below).
10% of the marks of written examination of each paper of each subject in the professional examinations allocated to the scores obtained from in-course evaluations and class attendants known as formative marks.
