About Admission Process
Admission will be on the basis of merit following the terms and conditions as directed by the Govt. of the People’s Republic Bangladesh. At present, the admission process will continue as per the latest government decision for the session 2023-24
Those who have passed ‘O’ and ‘A’ level or equivalent examinations in the specified years having equivalent marks are also eligible to apply with an equivalence certificate from the Director-General of Health Service, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

Application Procedure
The application form, prospectus, and other information are available at the office of Sylhet Women’s Medical College, and the completed application form and relevant documents must be submitted to the office by the candidate or his/her representative in person within the announced date and time.
Document to be attached
The students need to apply in the prescribed form which can be collected from the principal’s office. The completed form, along with the documents is to be submitted on or before the date as declared in the advertisement.
- Attested photocopies of the transcripts of SSC and HSC or equivalent Examinations.
- Attested photocopies of the certificate/testimonial of SSC and HSC or equivalent Examination.
- Four copies of recent passport size attested photographs.
- Nationality certificate from Chairman of the Union Parishad/Ward Commissioner of Metropolitan City of National ID Card.
- Money receipt of the purchased admission form.
- The admission form must be completed properly.
- Admit card from DG Health.
- Merit Score and Position of the exam taken by DG Health.

Foreign student’s admission requirements
Foreign students need to apply according to the rules & regulations of their respective countries through their Embassies. Students need to collect equivalence certificates of S.S.S / ‘O’ Level and H.S.C / ‘A-Level from the Director-General of Health Services.
Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Basic qualifications & prerequisites for MBBS Course:
- HSC or equivalent with Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry).
- The candidate has to secure a required grade point in the SSC and HSV examinations.
- The candidate has to secure a required grade point in the MBBS Admission Exam.
Student’s selection procedure for MBBS course:
As per approval by the SWMC admission committee, selection will be made –
- According to the MBBS admission test merit list.
- 5% of total students will be selected based on poor and meritorious quota/freedom fighter quota.

History
Holy Land Private Limited and Sylhet Health and Education Services Limited joined together in 2005 for a noble cause in medical education and health care. Together they formed Holy Sylhet Holding Limited.
In 2007, Holy Sylhet Holding Limited (HSHL) commenced the college and hospital with the permission of the Government of Bangladesh and after completing all the necessary formalities with the respective Ministries, Departments, Medical Associations, and University.
HSHL also has plans to establish a Dental College and 4-year Nursing College on its 3-Acre property in the heart of Sylhet City.
Presently, the entire organization has 96 Directors and 13 Shareholders and over 50% of them invest in the organization as Non-Resident Bangladeshis. As per the Government of Bangladesh’s investment policy, this qualifies HSHL and its sister concerns as one of the largest NRB (Non-Resident Bangladeshi) institutional investments in Bangladesh.
Sylhet Women’s Medical College and Hospital is a state-of-the-art teaching and medical facility with a unique architectural design throughout its 3 high-rise buildings built on 130,000 square feet of land in the heart of Sylhet.

Duration: MBBS course comprises five years, followed by logbook-based rotator internship for one year.
College Hostel
Students of the hostel must reside in their allotted seats at the hostel. The Hostel is situated within the campus. Hostels have the facilities such as a dining room, a common room with arrangements for games, TV, etc.
CLEANLINESS :
Students are asked to maintain the proper cleanliness of their rooms. Waste materials from rooms are to be kept in a wastebasket/plastic bin on each floor. It is expected that every student will be well-disciplined and behave properly both in a hostel and on the campus and must not be involved in anything unbecoming and unwanted.
The college authority will bear no responsibility for any activity or traveling outside the campus by the students. The college authority will provide accommodation for a student during the 5-year MBBS course.
